Regulation updates will provide you with information about new and changing regulations that may affect your business. The updates are available on this page or you can sign up for our regulation update email alert service.
Although regulations can come into force throughout the year, a number of key government departments issue all their changes twice a year, on 6 April and 1 October.

Regulation updates are published before new or changing regulations become law and stay live on this page until 30 days later when they go into our archive section.
Red Tape Challenge
Every few weeks, regulations are published on the Red Tape Challenge website - Opens in a new window that have an impact on particular sectors and areas of the economy. Visit the site to express your views on which regulations are the most burdensome, which could be removed and which could be improved.
Better Regulation Executive
You can also have a direct influence on how the regulations that affect your business are devised and delivered. For example, suggestions could include:
- ideas to cut the amount of time you spend filling in forms
- identifying where regulations that overlap or contradict could be improved
- scrapping regulations that - in your view - are unnecessary
